Frequently Asked Questions
I am a Los Angeles-based stylist.
I have previously lived in Pittsburgh, Lexington KY, Atlanta, New York and London. I became fashion obsessed as a teen, and minored in fashion merchandising in college.
I spent most of my career in the ad industry. While this was not usually related to styling, I did have several beauty and fashion clients. I traveled extensively for work, and one my favorite things was finding local boutiques and unique items that couldn't be found elsewhere.
When my ad career ended, I chose to work at Nordstrom because I admired the brand and their devotion to customer service. I was a department manager there at the wonderful Santa Monica store, until it closed.
Now I am using JoShopsTheWorld to continue my passion for shopping and helping people find things they love!

Use the form to submit a request for me to find items for you. Fill out the form, and I'll send you back a link with my suggestions. If you buy anything from the link, I receive commission.
You can also simply click through any link on my page (or my social media) and buy! I will earn commission for anything you purchase that way.
Every project is different but I can usually get back to you within 1-2 days. If you need something urgently, just let me know and if my schedule allows, I'll rush it!
Not really. All I do is provide you with links to retailers where you can make purchases. Once I do that, the rest is out of my hands. If you don't receive an item, or if your item is unsatisfactory, you'll have to reach out to the seller.
However, I do try to stick to reputable sellers. I won't send you links to sites that I don't feel confident about.
I'm pretty open to most requests. I try to avoid sending links to fast fashion sellers, but if you have a specific item or retailer you'd like me to consider, I will include it.
I will not help you buy a weapon, illegal items, or items that depict hate speech or hateful rhetoric. How is that defined? However I feel like defining it.
Absolutely. I can provide links to products in your country, and I can also provide links to other products but you'll just have to consider the cost of international shipping!
I don't charge you anything for my services. I just get paid by commission from the things you purchase from my links!
I am open to paid projects on a case-by-case basis. This might include things like in-person styling at a store or stores of your choice, a closet evaluation in your home (I am background checked and happy to provide you that info), or virtual styling sessions. Hit me up for more info!
Ooooeeeee I have a lot of them! But here is a taste...
Jeans: AG is soft, flattering and has no waste in their production process. R13 denim is worth the (high!) price
Bras: Chantelle Norah is comfortable and supportive for every day. Wacoal has a wirefree called How Perfect that is great for casual days
T-Shirts: I am such a tee junkie. I love Mother for its cheekiness, Free People for flattering cuts, Junk Food for graphics, Vinyl Icons for a great value
Beauty (this list could go on for pages, so here are some current faves):
Lipgloss: NYX Butter Gloss for great colors on a budget; Dior Lip Oil for luxe; Hourglass Unreal High Shine for volume and boldness
Foundation: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream; Armani Luminous Silk
Blush: Maybelline Cheek Heat Gel; Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk
Body: Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body tinted moisturizer - wow! This really makes legs look toned and glowy
Mascara: big fan of The Beauty Mage lash extensions, but otherwise I love Maybelline Lash Sensational colored primer!
Eyeliner: Victoria Beckham Kajal, especially in Sea Grey. It's waterproof so doesn't end up on my cheeks!
Dresses: There are far, far too many to list. But I will say this: every time I see a Ciebon label, I know it's going to be something special
Additionally, I love Australian fashion labels, the Beatles, Badfinger, London, the styles of the late 1960s/early 1970s, midcentury modern decor, frozen yogurt, my convertible Volvo, and my darling mini schnauzer, Dino.
